I'm Charlie ,A happy go lucky girl with a passion for horses.I was born in King's Lynn Norfolk in 1982.The bug of horses hit me at the age of 18 months old on a mini shetland called Snowy.I went to a riding school at the age of 5 years old and worked my way up the ranks.
To this day I am pretty much self taught but my best teacher has to be my horse Storm.A strapping 17hh Shire X Cob ,who I have owned for nearly 13 years ,now aged 14 and believe me there is no steady in him ,he thinks he's a race horse.!
I have completed in all disciplines but due to Stoem damaging his collateral ligament back in 2013 we are aiming for the quieter life of showing.
In the meantime I am honoured to have the privilege to compete a friend's cob who is young at heart and won't allow himself to believe he's 19 yrs.
One thing before I go .As you can see I am a larger rider.PLEASE DO NOT hide in the shadows ,be proud of your ability and your passion.Ignore the negativity and hold your heads high.Galloping Geldings has kindly sponsored me which has made me believe in myself again.I am LOVING the ring again and always getting placed.!!!:-)
Sorry for the slow update horses and life been keeping me busy.
Finally got the big lad out showing after his lengthy time off with injury.
So I thought I'd ease him in gentle with some in hand classes. Cob and veteran. We came away with a 2nd and a 4th in some big classes. The judge loved him but didn't appreciate his 3yr old moves!. So quite right we got knocked on manners. But he was just excited to be out.
Hopefully more to come now he's sound and crazy.xxx
Well Storm loves to keep me on my toes! Sadly out early August we went down out riding. No fault just a freak accident. Storm grazed all his nose and went through many layers on his knee. Today we braved it as the knee is just about there. (approx 10 weeks later) As you can imagine he was keen and happy to be out. So hopefully now it's cooler and the flys have buzzed off we can start to get fit again. Ride safe
